SPRING VALLEY - The Plum City boys' basketball team notched a must win over Spring Valley in overtime 57-54 Saturday.
Plum City's defense held Spring Valley to just one point in the overtime sessions. Several critical turnovers on the Cardinals' part, both at the end of regulaton and in the extra session allowed Plum City to maintain its small lead.
PC's Chase Luebker led all scorers with 23 points and Kris Krueger scored 10 points. The Blue Devils also had important contributions from Lawton Radle with eight points, Chad Fox with seven points and Travis Hines with six points.
"We did a much better job playing as a team today than had done in our previous ballgame and it made a big difference." Plum City head coach Zach Watkins said.
Spring Valley's top scorer was Troy Rudseill with 19 points, Kyle Bosshart finished with 10 points and Zac Webster scored nine points.
Plum City improves to 4-5 overall and 3-5 in the Dunn-St. Croix Conference while Spring Valley drops to 2-10 overall and 1-6 in the league.
