Plum City wins D-SC opener over Elmwood 3-1
Plum City's volleyball team rallied several times in Tuesday's Dunn-St. Croix Conference match with Pierce County rival Elmwood and those rallies helped the Blue Devils win 3-1.
PLUM CITY - Plum City's volleyball team rallied several times in Tuesday's Dunn-St. Croix Conference match with Pierce County rival Elmwood and those rallies helped the Blue Devils win the match 3-1.
PC came back from a 21-16 deficit to win Game 1 by a 25-22 score. They were also down 17-15 in Game 2 but turned the momentum around to win 25-19 and were down again in Game 4, 8-4 before roaring back to 19-11 lead and eventually winning 25-19.
The Blue Devils' Marah Boyer did much to help rally her team with 13 kills and three aces. Heather Von Holtum finished with six kills and Abbie Hartung had three blocks. Morgan Sweeney finished with 23 assists and Shelby Kannel had four aces.
Alli Pax and Tina McKune each had seven kills for Elmwood while Becky Hartung finished with six. McKayla Brunner finished with five aces and two blocks and 13 digs for the Raiders while Jessica Olson had 23 assists.
PC improves to 14-9 overall and plays at Glenwood City Thursday.
