Spotlight: Treasure Island
Matchbox Twenty's "A Brief History of Everything Tour 2017" comes Treasure Island Resort & Casino Saturday, Sept. 16. Counting Crows is the co-headliner for one of the final outdoor concerts in the region.
Originally titled Matchbox 20 form a No. 20 softball jersey bearing a patch that had "Matchbox" written on it, the band became Matchbox Twenty after releasing the debut album "Yourself or Someone Like You."
Members are Rob Thomas, Kyle Cook, Paul Doucette, Brian Yale and Adam Gaynor.
While their first single, "Long Day," spawned several Top 40 singles throughout 1997 and 1998, including "Push," ""Real World" and "Back 2 Good."
Counting Crows is an American rock band from Berkeley, Calif. Formed in 1991, the band consists of Adam Duritz, David Bryson, Charlie Gillingham, Dan Vickrey, David Immerglück, Jim Bogios and Millard Powers. The group's songs include "Mr. Jones," "Round Here," "A Long December" and "Rain King."
