Improv show to take over stage
Improv comedians Steve Anderson and Andy Hilbrands join forces on stage at the Widespot Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m. Sunday Jan. 31 in Stockholm.
The show “Andy’s Improv Friends” features professional players from major Twin Cities improv venues including Comedysportz, Huge Theater and Brave New Workshop,
The comedic coalition has well over 30 years of combined spontaneous stage experience and done thousands of shows.
Hilbrands left his hometown of Plainfield, Iowa, he also left his position as ringleader of the Butterscotch Boys.
Once in Minneapolis, he says he missed his gang so decided to form Andy’s Improv Friends.
Anderson, a regular on Widespot’s live radio variety show “Goin’ Coastal,” has starred in a string of performances for the Brave New Workshop’s Six Ring Circus. He currently teaches the annual Intro to Improv classes at Widespot with graduates making appearances at the show.
Tickets $15 in advance, $18 at the door. Ticket availability at the door not guaranteed, last year’s show was a sell-out.
