'Cheeseburgers & Gasoline' hits the highway
With lyrically rich and musically adventurous songs, Willy Porter delivers guitar-driven rock and beyond to the new acoustic frontier, according to Crossings at Carnegie.
The Zumbrota venue will put Porter on the stage at 7:30 p.m. Friday May 3.
His live show combines guitar playing, songwriting and on-stage improvisational skills making him a storyteller, performing artist and even a comedian, promoters said.
Porter's latest CD, "Cheeseburgers & Gasoline," was released in November. Much of this show will include tunes from that album.
Having toured with artists as diverse as Jeff Beck and Tori Amos, Porter is a practiced performer with a portfolio of songs that span a wide range of styles. The audience will hear blues, post-bluegrass country, folk and the influences of Woody Guthrie.
Tickets are $24 in advance, $26 day of show. To reserve tickets, call 507-732-7616 or stop in to Crossings at 320 East Ave., Zumbrota.
