Exhibit features city scenes

A photographer and an artist who both work to capture moods present in the natural world and city scenes share the exhibit space at Crossings at Carnegie during January.

Photographer Patsy Dew and Fred Ginocchio, who works in pastels and occasionally oil paints, will have recent works on display Jan. 3-31.

Capturing moments

"The camera is a marvelous tool for capturing moments, for freezing time," Dew said. "I look for those images that show the symbolism of the moment: the fleeting nature of life in a small town, or the eternal qualities of peaceful moments in a noisy metropolis."

Ginocchio began his artistic endeavors after retiring from the field of education in 2002.

His subject matter varies from portraits to older buildings.

Crossings is located at 320 East Ave.
