Crossings issues a call for poets, artists
Poet and artists who would like to be involved in a collaboration of poetry and art are invited to submit their work to the Poet-Artist Collaboration at Crossings at Carnegie, Zumbrota.
The annual exhibit is held in honor of National Poetry month. The poetry and artwork will be on display during April.
This year artists will create work inspired by poetry related to the theme: "It seemed like a good idea at the time."
Poems will be juried. Selected works will be paired with artists who will create original pieces of art inspired by the poems. Artists participating in the collaboration can use most mediums, including but not limited to painting, textiles, sculpture and mixed media, Crossings officials said.
Artists will be juried. After being notified that they were selected, artists will be given an opportunity to choose one of the juried poems from which to create art.
