Bedford appearing with Bill and Kate Isles
Crossings will welcome newcomer Bill Bedford, with special guests and Crossings favorites Bill and Kate Isles, to the stage at 8 p.m. June 12.
In its first month of airplay, Ben Bedford's second album, "Land of the Shadows," reached No. 1 on the Folk-DJ charts with three songs in the top 10.
" Bedford delivers intriguing sketches of America, its individuals, their victories and their struggles," Crossings spokesmen said.
After only four years as a full-time artist, Bedford has performed internationally and been heard on National Public Radio's Car Talk.
He refers to his style as "American portrait songwriting."
The opening set will feature Bill and Kate Isles, plus they'll join Bedford on stage after his set to combine their talents.
Since returned to performing in 2000, Bill Isles has become one of the most well known singer/songwriters in the Minnesota acoustic scene.
Joining him frequently to support their duet album, "Matching Baggage," is wife Kate.
Tickets are $12 in advance and $14 at the door. Call (507) 732-7616 or visit Crossings at 320 East Ave.
