Wrestling: Ellsworth shuts out Baldwin-Woodville
In a word, Ellsworth was dominant on Thursday.
Facing Middle Border Conference foe Baldwin-Woodville, the second-ranked (Division 2) Panthers had eight pinfalls, two decisions, one major decision and three matches won by forfeit in a 76-0 victory over the Blackhawks in Baldwin.
The quickest pin for Ellsworth came from Logan Kemmerer, who won his 170-pound match against Tirston Thompson in 37 seconds. Jens Lantz (132 pounds), Brady Zimmer (195) and Kenny Stowe (heavyweight) all won their matches by pinfall in under a minute. Sawyer Strom (106), Andrew Swanson (113), Josh Hines (152) and Gable Frandson (160) also won their respective matches via pin.
Now, the Panthers shift their focus on Saturday when they cross state lines to compete in the Byron Invitational. The field includes Dover-Eyota, Kasson-Mantorville, Lewiston-Altura/Rushford-Peterson and Waterville-Eylsian-Morristown.
