Wrestling: Bombers fall just short at Henry Sibley
Four Cannon Falls wrestlers won Henry Sibley Tournament titles Saturday, but the Bombers fell shy in the team standings, taking second place with 203.5 points. The Warriors came out on top in their own tournament, scoring 227.0 points.
Cannon Falls, missing three wrestlers and using two non-scoring substitutes, was still able to make a big dent in the brackets. Paul Fitterer (113 pounds), Ryan Epps (120), Connor Rohr (132) and Derek Johnson (182) all came out victorious in their respective brackets while Keston Lopez (126), Nathan Melhouse (170) and Cooper Roholoff (195) snagged second-place finishes. Four other Bombers took third place honors.
Cannon Falls will wrestle again Tuesday at Kasson-Mantorville in a triangular with La Crescent.
