Women priests invite you to special Mass Sunday
Reporter, Michael Brun, wrote a most sensitive article about my process to ordination with Roman Catholic Women Priests (R-E, June 26). I greatly appreciated his ability to listen, learn and write about this reform movement in the Roman Catholic Church.
The sacrament of ordination was a powerful experience with family and friends to support me. I appreciated my husband, Don Schneider, and my granddaughter, Carlina, for vesting me in the ritual itself. I am especially grateful for the support of other family members, my mentors, Bishop Regina Nicolosi and the Rev. Linda Wilcox, my sisters from RCWP, and the people from Red Wing — my spirituality group, members of the home church and my parish — who were with me at St. John's Episcopal Church in St. Cloud on June 23.
Our tradition is to celebrate the word and the Eucharist with a Mass of Thanksgiving. This will be my first Mass to preside and it will take place at Christ Episcopal Church in Red Wing 5 p.m. Sunday July 21, followed by a potluck. Please bring your favorite salad or hors d'oeuvre to share. Dessert and beverages will be provided.
