Wingers improve at Farmington
The Red Wing gymnastics team made significant improvements from its first two meets of the year, finishing with a 121.425 against Farmington Friday in Farmington in a loss.
Freshman Irina Anderson finished fourth in the individual all-around competition, placing fourth on the uneven bars Freshman Maria Furlong finished fifth on the floor exercise with an 8.475.
Sophomore Carlie Sandstrom placed first on the balance beam with an 8.3.
"Definite improvement," Red Wing head coach Beth Mayer said. "We had a very, very shaky start. The girls got some confidence from this meet. They set some goals and they accomplished them."
The Wingers next meet is Tuesday against Chanhassen/Chaska in Red Wing.
