Wilfred L. Callstrom, 97
Wilfred LeRoy Callstrom, 97, Lenexa, Kansas, passed away at Lakeview Village Care Center July 19.
Wilfred was born June 12, 1917, to Claus and Carrie Callstrom in White Rock, Minn. He was an accountant for the Internal Revenue Service for 30 years, a United States Army Veteran of World War II and a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 21, Independence, Mo. He was also a longtime member of Ruskin Heights Lutheran Church.
Wilfred was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Carl, Walter, Vincent, Morris and Milton Callstrom; sister, Lillie Schultz; and two great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ilene Callstrom; children and their spouses, Sherbette Bermel (Gilbert), Joyce Robison (Ken), Linda Adams (Jay), and Randy Callstrom, (Beth); grandchildren, John Rackliffe, Joshua Rackliffe, Jodi Nielson, Tasha Perry, Alexa Milus, Eric Adams, Rachel Wassall, Corrie Lawson, Kyle Adams, Nick Adams, Brenton Adams, Dane Callstrom, and Rebecca Callstrom; 21 great-grandchildren and one sister Evelyn Berg.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Road, Kansas City, MO. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery.
