Wanda V. Johnson, 90, of Red Wing
Wanda V. Johnson, 90, of Red Wing, formerly of Ellsworth, died Thursday, June 11, at Fairview Seminary Home, Red Wing.
Wanda was born on Nov. 30, 1918. in the town of Salem, Pierce County, the daughter of Rennie and Augusta (Martin) Billeter. She married Loren Johnson on Jan. 30, 1935, in Ellsworth. To this union four children were born, Shirley, Bettie, Sally and Thomas. Wanda was a devoted wife and help-mate of 73 years. She was a stay at home mom who served many, many a meal from scratch, and helped her children with their school studies and projects.
Wanda was a 40-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and attended Bethel Covenant Church.
She is survived by her four children, Shirley (Neil) Bostrom, Hager City, Wis., Bettie (John) Swedien, Red Wing, Minn., Sally (James) Larson, Hager City, Wis., Thomas Johnson, Ellsworth, Wis.; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Boleen, Ellsworth; four sisters-in-law. Her husband, great-granddaughter, Kate Huppert, and parents preceded her in death.
Funeral services for Wanda will be 2 p.m. Monday, June 15, at Bethel Covenant Church, Ellsworth. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
