Volleyball: Red Wing still looking for first win

The Red Wing volleyball team remains in search of win No. 1 this season after a three-set, 25-12, 25-11, 25-9 loss to Missota Conference foe New Prague.

“Well, tonight went much better,” said Red Wing assistant coach Kelly Norman. “Our scores didn't show how well we played, but it is an improvement from Monday night. Serve-receive looked much better tonight. (Libero) Maria (Furlong) is back and provided a familiar voice leading. The girls came out ready to play tonight, we just couldn't push through. New Prague had two quick outside hitters that kept us on our toes.”

Furlong tallied nine digs in the loss while Sara Kelly chipped in two ace serves. Sydney Book led the Wingers with four kills.

Red Wing (0-19, 0-6 Missota) will play in the Eastview tournament Saturday before closing the regular season Tuesday with a visit from Chanhassen.
