The third-ranked team in Class 2A turned in a fine performance Tuesday as Kasson-Mantorville ripped Lake City 25-12, 25-14, 25-10 in a Hiawatha Valley League volleyball match.

Brianna Gates (three kills, six digs), Megan Schramski (four digs) and Madi Green (two kills) did what they could against the KoMets, but the Tigers were not able to slow down the K-M hitters.

“They put on a hitting clinic,” said Lake City head coach Kim Bobb. “They were smoking the ball.”

The Tigers (2-18-2, 0-9 HVL) will hit the road for their final two regular-season matches, starting with Goodhue on Thursday. Lake City will close with No. 2-ranked Stewartville next Tuesday.
