Volleyball: Lake City nets win at Dover-Eyota

Trying to regroup from a 4-18 record in 2013, Lake City got off on the right foot Monday, winning its season-opener against Dover-Eyota in four sets, 25-9, 25-15, 23-25, 25-11.

“The girls came ready to play tonight,” said Tigers head coach Kim Bobb. “Everyone was swinging and passing well. It was good to see.”

Leading Lake City’s charge was Daynalyn Jostock, who had 15 kills and two aces serves. Breanna Gates came up with 12 kills, and Emma Gnotke had four kills, three digs and three blocks. Bailey Cronin and Abby Ziebell paced the Tigers’ offense with 18 and 12 set assists, respectively.

On Tuesday, Lake City is back on the road against Plainview-Elgin-Millville.
