Vivian E. Perkins, 83
Vivian E. Perkins, known to many as "Dolly", age 83, of Hager City, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, at her home. Dolly was born to Milton and Erma (Ogden) Thompson in a log cabin on Oct. 11, 1930, in Weston, Wis. She was the second born of four children.
She was married to James Turnbell for 25 years and they had six children.
She went to school in Red Wing and then worked at Red Wing Shoe for 11 years. She graduated from Lakeland Medical Academy and then worked in the medical field at River Falls Hospital in Dr. Hobergs' office, the Gorman Clinic, and lastly Dr. Jonas' office.
She did volunteer work in Red Wing and Ellsworth at the food shelves. She loved gardening, garage sales, auctions, and doing crossword puzzles.
She is survived by six children: Craig Turnbell, Cindy (John) Oelke, Trudy (Tony) Huppert, Lindy (Korin) Turnbell, LeAnne Dohm, and StephanieTurnbell; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Quinten (Marly) Thompson; and two sisters, Leatrice Schommer, and Shirley Harvey.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services for Dolly will be at 12 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at the Hill Funeral Home, Ellsworth, Wis.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services at 12 p.m. Burial will be at a later date in the Poplar Hill Cemetery, Rock Elm, Wis.
