Vernon Hoyer, 77
Vernon Leroy Hoyer, 77, of Roberts, Wis., passed Monday, July 1, at the Minnesota Veterans Hospital, Minneapolis.
He was born Feb. 13, 1936, at home in Ellsworth, Wis., to Albert and Louise (Fick) Hoyer. He enlisted in the United States Army, 1954, and was honorably discharged October 1962. 40-year member of the American Legion Post #357. Vernon primarily worked for the family business, Hoyer Well Drilling, and enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Sr. and Louise; first wife Leona (Sarnstrom) Hoyer; brother Albert Jr.; and sister Delphenia.
Survived by his wife, Janean; children Duane, Clarence, Edwin, Robert, Margaret, Veronica, Joseph, Chad, Nicole, Joseph, and Stormy; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, at Hill Funeral Home, Ellsworth, with visitation from 2-3 p.m. Internment at Bay City Cemetery at 5 p.m. Gathering to follow at the Bay City Legion Post #357.
