BLOOMER - Ellsworth have two competitors at next weekend's boys' state track and field meet.

Senior Alex Campbell and junior Brett Freier both qualified by finishing in the top four of their respective events at Thursday's WIAA Division 2 Bloomer Sectional.

Campbell took second in the triple jump with a leap of 44-5. Freier finished third in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles with a time of :40.75. Ellsworth head coach Rich Powers believes Freier might also qualify in the 110-meter high hurdles, which he finished fifth, if his time is one of the top ones in the state.

Campbell also finished fifth in the high jump as the Panther team finished 13th with 21 points.
