Two injured in Pierce County motorcycle crash
Two people sustained injuries after being ejected from a motorcycle Sunday evening, Pierce County Sheriff's Department reported.
Jacob Adelmann, 29, Dundas, Minn., was driving the cycle northbound on Highway 35 in Oak Grove Township just before 6 p.m. He was driving too fast, the sheriff's department said, and lost control going around a curve. The motorcycle went into the ditch, ejecting both Adelmann and his passenger Tiffany Crump, 24, New Market, Minn.
The pair landed in a large pile of downed trees in the ditch. Both were transported by North Memorial Air Care to Regions Hospital in St. Paul. The sheriff's department said while some injuries were severe, neither Adelmann nor Crump appeared to have life-threatening injuries.
Highway 35 was closed for about 45 minutes to allow helicopters to land.
Alcohol and speed appear to be contributing factors in the crash.
Prescott EMS, River Falls EMS, Ellsworth EMS, Prescott Fire and Prescott Police assisted at the scene.
