Two injured in Pierce County motorcycle collision
Two motorcyclists were injured after colliding June 2 on Highway 35 south of Pierce County Road E, while a third was forced into a ditch to avoid the crash.
James D. Sershen, 21, from Northfield, Minn., was making a U-turn on Highway 35 when he was struck by a second motorcycle operated by Dennis J. Monn, 54, from Cottage Grove, Minn., according to the Pierce County Sheriff's Department.
Monn was airlifted from the scene and taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul. Sershen was taken by ambulance to Regions Hospital for non-life threatening injuries, authorities said. The operator of the third motorcycle, William E. King, 46, from St. Paul Park, Minn., was cleared on the scene by responders. Prescott ambulance, Prescott fire and River Falls Medic assisted on the scene.
