Two food service courses offered

University of Minnesota Extension is offering two courses to help food service establishments meet the educational requirement for certified food managers.

The initial certification course, ServSafe, will be offered Thursday June 7 at the Dakota County Extension Office in Farmington. The class will run from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., followed by the test.

Participants must attend all day to be eligible to take the certification exam. This course includes information about safe food preparation, handling, sanitation and prevention of foodborne illnesses. Registration is required by May 24.

Serve It Up Safely is a four-hour renewal course. It also will be held at the Dakota County Extension Office Thursday June 7. The hours will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Registration is due by May 24.
