Trost finishes fourth at Mayo Invite for Bombers
Cannon Falls sophomore Emi Trost finished as one of five runners to best a course-record time of 15 minutes, 23.8 seconds Thursday at the 41st annual Mayo Invitational at Eastwood Golf Course in Rochester.
Trost finished fourth overall with a time of 15:10.21 and trailed meet winner Vivian Hett, from Burnsville, who finished at 14:44.22, Albert Lea's Chrissy Monson, who took second in 14:49.51 and Austin's Madison Overby, who placed third in 15:05.92.
The Bombers finished 16th as a team with 435 points.
Other finishers included eighth-grader Emma Thomley, who placed 85th in a time of 17:40.61 in the 4-kilometer race. Sophomore Ashleigh Draille took 115th in 19:08.31. Sophomore teammate Amber Edwards finished one spot behind with a time of 19:13.48. Sophomore Cara Edwards came in 127th at 20:24.14.
Boys finish 20th
Senior Jordan Erlanson led the Bombers with a 116th place finish in 19:46.20. Freshman Karl Ritzman placed 122nd in 20:22.5 in the 5-kilometer race while junior Tyler Wilson took 124th in 20:31.6.
Freshman Tristan Mills finished 127th in 20:41.5 and sophomore Connor Rohr finished 129th in 20:47.7.
