Three enter Red Wing's school race; filings open through Tuesday
With four days until filing closes, three candidates have filed for the three open positions in November's election for the Red Wing School Board. Steve Anderson, board member since 2011, Bethany Borgschatz, and Arlen Diercks have declared their intent to run for a position on the board. Board member Emily Baldwin and Paul Kramp, whose terms are up this year along with Anderson's, said before filing opened they were unsure whether they would run again.
Filing is open until 5 p.m. Tuesday and all paperwork is available in district office.s A notarized signature and a $2 filing fee are required. Anyone with questions can call their district office.
Since the last school board filing update, Curtis Beissel and Robert Siebenaler have filed for Cannon Falls' three open positions and Dawn Balow added her name to the list of Ken Jacob, Mike Ohlaber, and Becca Weist, who are running for Lake City's three spots up for election.
No additional candidates have filed for Kenyon-Wanamingo, which has four positions available with two people filed -- Jennifer Smith and Marilyn Syverson. In Zumbrota-Mazeppa, which has three positions available, candidates as of Friday evening were Becky Hinchley and James Wendt.
