Textile art, jewelry sought for exhibit
The art center Crossings in Zumbrota is seeking artists to participate in Fabrications Ten, a group show of fiber and textile arts and handcrafted jewelry displayed at the art gallery during the month of December.
Entries can include artwork such as contemporary gallery pieces, wall hangings, 3-dimensional fiber sculpture, wearable art of all types, handcrafted jewelry, and holiday ornaments.
Jurors will focus particularly on innovative designs and craftsmanship.
Artist should consider this an opportunity to explore their medium, stretch it to new lengths, twist and turn it into new forms, spin in new technologies or ancient methods and string on a bit of fantasy.
This exhibit is open to all fiber and jewelry artists interested in displaying and selling their work. Fiber arts may include batik, surface design, felting, quilting, rug hooking, spinning, weaving, knitting, fiber sculpture, handcrafted paper and note cards, and needlework.
Jewelry arts may include fiber, beading, stone, metal, paper and multimedia.
Artists may submit three to five original pieces with an entry form and $15 entry fee per person (not per piece) by Saturday, Nov. 9.
Mail to: Crossings, 320 East Ave., Zumbrota, MN 55992. All entries must be delivered in a box or container clearly labeled with the artist's name, contact information and itemization of contents.
