Sweet Papa Dave comes to Crossings
Singer, song writer, guitar player and front man for his band, Sweet Papa Dave has been performing his music nationally for more than 30 years.
He and his band will perform original music ranging in genres from blues to folk, country and rock at 7:30 p.m. Saturday March 15 at Crossings in Zumbrota.
David Hart, known as Sweet Papa Dave, was born in St. Paul but raised in the deep backwoods of Grand Portage, Minn.
His family had no running water, heating and cooking with wood. He grew up with a passion and understanding of the blues, listening to Huddy Ledbetter, Woody Guthrie, Pete Sieger and Jim Kweskin’s Jug Band on the family’s phonograph.
Over his decades of performing, he has shared the stage with Jimmy Dawkins, Chico Chism, Alberta Adams, Vince Welnik, RJ Mischo, Big Walter Smith and Paul Diethelm.
Today, Sweet Papa performs alongside guitarist Randy Mickelberg, bassist Keith Manske and drummer John Tetrault.
