Spotlight event: Kenyon Rose Fest
The annual three-day Kenyon Rose Fest will run Aug. 16 to 18 in downtown Kenyon.
Friday's activities include citywide garage sales' 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. farmera market; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Kenyon Library book sale; 1 p.m. KW Knights Booster Club Golf Tournament; 6 p.m. horseshoes and disc golf in Depot Park; 6 p.m. Thorny Rose Challenge for ages 18 and under; 5 p.m. hog roast; 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. street dance featuring music by Mountain Ash.
Saturday's highlights include 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. car show; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Drive One 4UR School Test Drive Fundraiser at Peterson Ford; 10 a.m. road rally; 10 a.m. kids pedal ttractor pull; 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Family Fun Day at Depot Park; Gunderson House tours; 4 p.m. parade followed by opening of the former Kenyon High School time capsule on Forest Street; 9 p.m. street dance featuring the Johnny Holm Band.
Sunday's activities include a 9 a.m. tractor pull and 2 p.m. musical review with local talent at the Gunderson House.
Don't miss the Field of Flags on display all weekend at Veteran's Park.
