Sports fan finalist for 'perfect job'
Kendall Mark has found the perfect job. She just needs your help to get it.
Mark is one of the top 10 finalists for the newest addition to the Fox Sports North Girls, and the public can vote for their favorites now until Aug. 14 online.
Mark, who was born and raised in Red Wing, said the work the FSN Girls do is what she loves.
The women interact with fans at games and on social media and are involved in promotions and charity events.
Mark said the Girls are "kind of the middle of all the fans and Fox Sports North."
"It's the perfect job for me," she said.
Mark graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2012 with a journalism degree and said she wants to focus on sports journalism. She said she loves sporting events and would enjoy covering them.
"The atmosphere and fans and being part of that, you can't really get that anywhere else," Mark said. "You're with 30,000 people you don't know and everybody feels the same way."
Mark was among nearly 150 women who submitted applications for the Fox Sports North Girls spot, she said.
After a week or so she found out she was among the top 20. She had an interview with Fox Sports North and test promotion videos and photos, including with the current FSN Girls.
Mark found out Thursday that she was among the top 10 applicants and the list was announced publically Friday afternoon.
Now, besides one last interview with Fox, she has to wait and see what the public thinks.
"It's kind of nerve-wracking," she said.
Mark said if she is chosen she also will be able to represent her hometown along with her favorite sports teams.
"At the end of the day I just think this is not only a really cool opportunity for me, it would be something new or exciting here," she said.
