Softball: Triton's bats crush Goodhue
The Triton softball team put on a display of power at Goodhue on Monday as the Cobras hit four home runs in an 11-1 six-inning victory on Monday.
Leading the power surge was Haley Staffon, who hit a solo homer in the third inning and a three-run shot in the sixth, finishing the afternoon 3-for-4 with five RBI and two runs. Staffon’s solo homer in the third was followed by another solo home run from Kate Blaisdell, and Emily Hodgman belted a two-run shot in the sixth for her only hit of the game.
Goodhue’s lone run came in the fourth when a Laurie Pearson pop fly came off the first baseman’s glove, allowing Sydney McNamara to score. Pearson was 1-for-2, and McNamara and Brittney Ryan were each 1-for-3. In her lone at-bat of the day, Caitlin Roschen hit for a double.
The Wildcats (4-13) close out the regular season Tuesday at home against Byron.
