The top-ranked team in Class 2A scored in every inning to easily dispose of Goodhue, 17-1.

Kasson-Mantorville started Friday’s Hiawatha Valley League contest with a three-run first inning, followed by four more in the second, and five each in the third and fourth. The Wildcats scored their lone run in the top of the third on a Kate Lexvold RBI single. Bailey Kreisler had two hits for Goodhue.

Laurie Pearson took the loss in the circle, throwing two innings and giving up seven runs, four earned runs, on four hits and three walks with two strikeouts.

K-M’s Cori Kennedy finished 2-for-4 with three RBI, and Chante’ Thome went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI while picking up the win.

Goodhue (3-10, 1-10 HVL) will play three games Saturday beginning with a 10 a.m. game against Wabasha-Kellogg. Bethlehem Academy (noon) and Waterville-Elysian-Morristown (2 p.m.) are also in the Faribault tournament.
