So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen — goodbye
Saturday may mark the end of an era for music in Red Wing.
They will sing at 2 and 7 p.m. at the Sheldon Theatre. The concerts will be the final performances for at least two longtime group leaders.
Lynn Dulak has been the accompanist on piano for 28 years, and Cheryl Borgen has sung with the choir for more than 15 years, serving as the artistic director for the past decade.
Both will be stepping down after Saturday, leaving the future of the choir uncertain.
“It’s been an honor to work with so many talented people,” Dulak said, adding how much fun it’s been to watch the group grow, challenge and conquer material that at one time was considered too difficult.
“I’ve enjoyed all the different people that have come in and out of the group,” she noted. “Making music together has been an absolute pleasure.”
Themed as a “jazz club” experience, audiences can expect to hear the full choir sing mixed with solos and small groups.
“We’ve done such a variety of music,” Dulak added, “and that’s been fun.”
Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students and are available at the Sheldon box office.
