Sewer smoke tests will be June 4
Red Wing Public Works will be conducting sanitary sewer smoke testing June 4 on Third and Fourth streets from Cedar to Fulton and some other streets in the fringe area of street reconstruction.
The test will identify potential interconnections between the sanitary and storm water sewer systems, Public Works staff said. It involves blowing a smoke-like substance through a manhole and checking to see where it exists.
The smoke is not hazardous to people, animals or plants, the department says. For more information, visit www.red-wing.org or contact public works at 651-385-3674.
