Renaissance art and culture
Illustrator Jane Lamke will stop by at 2 p.m. Thursday July 25. Hear her speaking about the cultural impact that the Renaissance had on European and American art.
Jokes about aging
Red Wing Area Seniors Inc., intends to compile a book of favorite jokes about growing older in "Jest Aging." Challenges come with aging, but seeing the humor is healthy and fun. Especially wanted are jokes that show seniors as smart, clever and courageous. Drop off your joke at the senior center or email it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Granny Blanket group meets at 1:30 p.m. every Wednesday. Members continue to make fleece blankets that are donated to Kid's Count, Hope House and Red Wing Hospice.
Gentle yoga for seniors
Learn gentle yoga positions with certified yoga instructor Michelle Hoffman 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesdays. Cost for six sessions $45 individuals, $80 couples.
Yoga can reduce chronic health conditions, improve sleep, increase energy, restore balance, improve attitude and overall quality of life. Start anytime.
