Take in a movie
Catch a movie at 1 p.m. every Friday this month. Bring your own snack and beverage. Cost is $2. The 1940 film “His Girl Friday” airs March 7 and see the 1949 classic “I Was a Male War Bride” is scheduled March 14.
Polka dance is March 9
All ladies and gentlemen are welcome to dance to the big band polka sounds of Ray Sands and the Polka Dots from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Sunday March 9 at the Red Wing Elks Club. Cost is $7; all ages welcome.
Computer class offered
Instructor Randy Decker gives an introduction to online privacy and computer security at 10 a.m. Monday March 10. Learn about antivirus and firewall software, secure websites, how to recognize email scams, social media safety and more. Cost is $4 for members, $5 for nonmembers.
Zumba fitness class
Zumba classes feature exotic rhythms set to high-energy Latin and international beats. Classes run 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursdays beginning March 13 and continue through May 29. Each session costs $5 for members, $7 for nonmembers or purchase 11 punches for $50 members, $70 nonmembers. Call to register.
Socialize while playing
Here's the schedule of games to be played: 500 – 12:30 p.m. Monday March 10; Cribbage – 1 p.m. Tuesdays; Scrabble and Chess – 1 p.m. Wednesdays.
Support services offered
Several support groups and services are available.
•Free hearing screening tests will be offered from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday March 12. Free cleanings and tune-ups of all makes and model of hearing aids are also available.
•Men Only Group meets at 9 a.m. Thursday March 13. The informative support group is for men who have assumed the role of being the long term care provider of a spouse or other person.
•The Foot Care Clinic is offered from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday March 13. Appointments are required, call to sign up.
•Stroke support group meets at 2 p.m. Thursday March 13.
Medical equipment available
Gently used medical equipment is available at the Senior Center to use for up to three months during a period of medical convalescence or short-term disability.
Items include wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, shower chairs, commodes and more. If you need something, visit or call the center. A $20 donation is requested to help with the ongoing program costs.
Jordan Towers are located in the 400 block of West Fifth Street in downtown Red Wing. All events listed are held at Jordan Tower I or II unless otherwise noted.
Help out making cards
The craft group meets at 1 p.m. Wednesdays to make recycled greeting cards. Donations of old greeting cards and volunteers to assemble them are welcomed. Recycled cards are for sale from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every day at the Jordan Tower II Sailstad Room.
Build up your bones
Bone Builders meets at 9 a.m. Mondays and Wednesday in the Jordan I café. This is a free volunteer-led weight based class meant to reverse the effect of osteoporosis.

Check your blood pressure
Free blood pressure checks will be given at 11:45 a.m. Friday March 14 at 207 Second St., Goodhue. The service is offered by St. Brigid’s Hi-Park volunteers.
