RWFD responds to bedroom fire

Firefighters extinguished a house fire Sunday on the 200 block of East Fifth Street. No one was hurt in the blaze.

Flames were coming from a second-story bedroom window when crews arrived, according to a Red Wing Fire Department news release. Firefighters entered the residence and extinguished the fire with foam.

The fire was contained to the single room, which sustained moderate damage.

Two fire pumpers and an ambulance staffed by eight firefighter paramedics were on scene for around 90 minutes, RWFD says. Red Wing police also provided assistance.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
