Rochester man charged with assaulting Cannon Falls girl

A Rochester man faces felony charges for allegedly sexually assaulting a Cannon Falls girl nearly four years ago. Bradford Lee Dahlenburg, 37, has been charged with two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.

According to a criminal complaint, Dahlenburg assaulted the girl, who is now 17, when she was a seventh-grader. The complaint says Dahlenburg came into the girl's room at night, undressed her, undressed himself and laid on top of her while holding her down.

The incident happened in the girl's house in Cannon Falls while her mother was at the casino, the complaint states. The girl and Dahlenburg knew each other before the alleged assault.

In the complaint, the girl said Dahlenburg was "really drunk" during the assault.

Dahlenburg has no recollection of the event, the complaint says. He reported that he was a "pretty bad alcoholic" and would have blackouts caused by "overdrinking," during which he could hear and talk to others, but would not remember anything that happened during them.

"If (the girl) said this ... incident happened... I have no reason not to believe her," Dahlenburg said in the complaint.

Dahlenburg made his first court appearance Friday morning.
