Kids' Crusade features clown, mime
The annual Kids' Crusade at Valley View Assembly of God Church in Lake City will run four consecutive evenings, starting Sunday July 21. Comedian Ben Christensen and his wife, Christine, will share the gospel through comedy, juggling, puppets, magic, Bible stories and music, organizer Carol Meyer said.
Parents are encouraged to attend with their children; children 5 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
Children age 3 through those who recently completed sixth grade will have chances to win prizes each night. All kids present Sunday night will receive a prize, and there will prizes for adults and teens Wednesday, the final night.
Ben Christensen has performed all over the USA, both with his one-man show and as a part the Circus Hall of Fame and "LOL (Laugh Out Loud) Show."
He is a comic juggler, magician and world-class entertainer. He took first place in a diabolo (Chinese yo-yo) competition at the MONDO, took gold at a World Clown Association convention and walked away with the trophy at the talent competition for the International Fellowship of Christian Magicians. In 2013, he was named master clown by the World Clown Association.
Christine Christensen is a professional mime and dancer. She started performing at age 13.
