Red Wing School Board: Montessori program delayed
A public Montessori program initially slated to begin later this year will be pushed back until 2009, school officials said.
At Monday's Red Wing School Board meeting, Supt. Stan Slessor said officials will wait until "optimum conditions" are in place. The School Board in February approved a Montessori program, to be funded by a private grant.
With the extra time, the district will have time to arrange training for the Montessori instructor, Kai Coyle, and determine space arrangements at Colvill Family Center, a proposed site for the program.
