Red Wing Port Authority Board terms may get shorter
Gov. Dayton signed a bill into law today allowing Red Wing to reduce term to three years for Port Authority Board members.
Currently, board members serve six years.
The law would affect appointees for term beginning on or after Jan. 1, 2011.
The change only takes effect after local approval by the governing body of the city and filed by the chief clerical officer.
The bill was passed unanimously by both the Minnesota State House and Senate.
