Red Hot Hack coming up

Red Wing Ignite will host a Red Hot Hack, a hackathon focused on coming up with creative ideas to use technology to solve community issues, on April 26 and 27 at 419 Bush St.

The event is free and organizers will provide meals, beverages and snacks.

Anyone is invited to attend, whether you can code or not.

Applications should focus on the areas of education, public safety, health care, manufacturing, energy and transportation.

Rooms are available at the St. James Hotel and Nichols Inn and Suites for a reduced rate; mention “Red Hot Hack” for a discount. Scholarships also are available.

“A very important mission of Red Wing Ignite is to host regional and national events aimed at advancing technology and creative ideas for new business opportunities,” Red Wing Ignite Executive Director Neela Mollgaard said. “We welcome everyone to be part of this event as we use next-generation technology to change the way we learn, live and work.”
