Wabasha County apparently will have a recount for one commissioner race. Meanwhile, incumbent David Harms of Lake City learned he won’t serve after Jan. 1.

Harms lost a three-way primary contest to Cheryl McGrath Key and Thomas Dwelle. Key had 183 votes and Dwelle received 185 to Harms’ 99 for the District 5 seat.

For the District 2 seat currently held by Deb Roschen, Brian Goihl emerged as the leader. He had 248 votes or 46.88 percent of ballots cast, according to the Secretary of State’s Office. One vote separates Jamie Mehrken (140) and Simon Kehren (141). A recount or the official canvassing of the vote will determine who advances to the general election, Nov. 4.
