Ralph Cox, 92
Ralph Theodore Cox, 92, of Red Wing, died Wednesday, Aug. 21, at St. Brigid's at Hi-Park.
He was born on March 15, 1921, in Plainview, Minn., to Levi and Dora (Fisher) Cox. He attended schools there, and on Oct. 6, 1944, he married Gladys Heuer in Plainview. They farmed for 8 years in that area before moving to Lake City. In 1955 they moved to Red Wing where he worked for S.B. Foot Tannery for 30 years, retiring in 1985. After retirement he worked at Pamida, Syl's Amoco, and then was manager for one of the Perlich apartment buildings. Gladys died on July 15, 2007.
He was a member of United Lutheran Church and enjoyed camping and watching television.
Survivors include three children, Eugene (Karen) Cox of Chanhassen, Judi (Charles) Fosberg of Hager City, and Richard (Tana) Cox of Lake City; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; along with nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; infant daughter Susan; three brothers, Francis, Clarence, and Aiden; and one sister, Viola Schrieber.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, with Rev. Justin Boeding officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be for 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
