PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
Notice is hereby given that the City of Red Wing Planning Advisory Commission will hold a public hearing in the City Council Chambers at City Hall on Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at 7:00 p.m., to hear and make a recommendation on a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) and Variance request by Northstar Development Partners, LLC, 2000 Old West Main Street, Red Wing, to construct a 35 unit multi-family residential apartment building at 1851 Old West Main Street. A CUP is required in the Mixed Use Commercial Tourism (MCT) Zoning District for a Multiple Family Residential (5 + Units) use. The applicant is proposing to re-grade the site and construct a 3 ½ story, 35 unit apartment building including 35 stalls of indoor parking, a 31 stall surface parking lot, and a new storm water infiltration basin to improve water quality leaving the site.
The Red Wing Zoning Ordinance requires that 70 on-site parking stalls be constructed for the project (two per unit), including at least 35 indoor stalls. The applicant is requesting a Variance to allow only 66 on-site stalls for the project.

Written or oral comments to said application may be presented at this public hearing or filed with the City Clerk prior to this hearing. Each response will be duly considered and evaluated before any formal action is taken by the Planning Commission to make a recommendation to the City Council. The City Council will consider and evaluate all responses made at the Planning Commission Public Hearing and the Planning Commission’s recommendation. No additional oral comments will be presented at the City Council meeting prior to a decision by the City Council unless specifically requested by the City Council.

Notice is hereby given that the City of Red Wing Planning Advisory Commission will hold a public hearing in the City Council Chambers at City Hall on Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at 7:00 p.m., to hear and make a recommendation on a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) request by the Church of St. Joseph, 426 8th Street, Red Wing, to allow an Interim Use at the former St. Joseph’s School site, at 469 12th Street. The applicant is proposing an Interim Use that would allow Goodhue County to rent the site for approximately one year to provide office space for approximately 60 County employees during the rehabilitation of the County’s existing Health and Human Services building at 426 West Avenue. The proposed use is considered a Community Service by the Red Wing Zoning Ordinance and is allowed as an Interim Use in the Residential Two (R-2) Zoning District with the approval of a CUP.
