Project to remove stoplights in Cannon Falls gets funding

A project that would remove the only stoplights between Rochester and the metro area has been chosen for funding by the Minnesota Department of Transportation, the organization announced Thursday.


The project will create a new interchange at the intersection of Highway 52 at Goodhue County Highway 24 in Cannon Falls and remove the two traffic signals there.

The $27 million project will reduce the potential for accidents, said Greg Isakson, county engineer.
