Prairie Island railroad crossing meeting set
A community information meeting on a possible new Sturgeon Lake Road overpass will be June 19 at the Prairie Island Indian Community Community Center.
The meeting will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. with a short presentation at 5 p.m. The city of Red Wing and the Prairie Island community are working together on the new overpass that would allow for a safer crossing of the existing Canadian Pacific rail tracks, staff said.
The project has been on hold since 2007, but was revived in 2011 after federal funding became available. Plans have been updated from the original 2006 design.
