Pollution advisory issued for region
The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency issued Friday an air pollution advisory for the southern two-thirds of the state until midday today.
People with cardiovascular or respiratory disease, children and the elderly are encouraged to postpone or reduce vigorous activity while the advisory is in effect.
A combination of fog, high pressure and light winds are expected to allow fine particle pollution to accumulate near unsafe levels for at-risk groups.
Increasing winds this afternoon will help to clear pollution particulates, the MPCA said.
