Plum City man suffers head trauma from crash
A Plum City man was ejected from his vehicle at about 8 a.m. Wednesday morning after crashing into a large tree, the Pierce County Sheriff's Department reported.
According to the report, Luis Garcia, 20, was driving west on 250th Avenue when his vehicle left the roadway. Garcia then over corrected and the vehicle slid sideways, entering the opposite ditch and hitting a small tree before traveling farther into a large tree.
When deputies arrived, Garcia was ejected from the vehicle and had visible head trauma, along with other injuries. He was transported by medic helicopter to Regions Hospital in St. Paul with undetermined injuries.
Assisting on scene were Plum City Fire Department, Maiden Rock/Plum City Ambulance, Ellsworth Ambulance, North Memorial Air Care and Melstrom's Towing.
The crash is under investigation.
