PLUM CITY - Plum City had a one-point lead over their Pierce County, Dunn-St-Conference rival Elmwood with less than three minutes to go Tuesday at home. But Elmwood outscored their Blue Devils 13-1 during the final stretch of the ballgame and lost 67-56.

Plum City trailed for much of the ballgame but not so much they couldn't rally themselves to the lead and that's what PC did midway through the fourth quarter. They took leads of 53-52 and 55-54 before they went scoreless until the :11.4 mark of the final quarter.

"Fatigue was part of it, obviously we were short on jump shots and free-throws," Plum City head coach Zach Watkins said. "But length and speed affected us as well. We hesitated at times on offense instead of being confident with our shots and moves to the basket."

Plum City's Chase Luebker drew close to the 1,000-point mark with 21 points and teammate Travis Hines had a season high 10 points while Chad Fox finished with seven points fro the Devils. Logan Wolf led Elmwood with 23 points and Kyle Webb scored 13 points as the Raiders kept pace with league-leading Elk Mound in the D-SC standings with a 9-2 league record (13-4 overall).

PC (4-8 overall and 3-8 in the Dunn-St. Croix) is off until Friday when they travel to St. Croix Central.
