Pheasants Forever helps honor Minnesota's veterans
As part of its 30th anniversary and in recognition of Veterans Day 2012, Pheasants Forever and its partners are working to develop support for the Minnesota Veterans Wildlife Area project. The purpose is to honor Minnesota's veterans and military, and permanently secure a public wildlife area in honor of their service.
This project is patterned after Pheasants Forever's "Build a Wildlife Area" campaign, which has completed 21 projects in three states, providing more than 5,000 acres for public use and outdoor recreation. Once land is acquired, it is restored and enhanced for wildlife and to provide a permanent place for the public to enjoy hunting, fishing and the outdoors. Historically, each project has become a public Wildlife Management Area or Waterfowl Production Area.
